About the Role:

Pine Heights at Brattleboro Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation is seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will play a vital role in creating a positive dining experience for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook nutritious and flavorful meals following prescribed menus and dietary requirements.
  • Quality Control: Ensure high-quality food preparation, presentation, and portion control.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Menu Planning: Collaborate with dietary staff to plan menus and accommodate special dietary needs.
  • Inventory Management: Order and manage inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment.
  • Food Safety: Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Experience as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Skills: Safe knife handling skills and experience operating commercial slicers, ovens, grills, large blenders, etc.
  • Personality: A compassionate and empathetic nature, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
