Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Weatherization Technician to join our team at Southeastern Idaho Community Action Agency. As a key member of our Weatherization Crew, you will play a vital role in performing weatherization services on eligible homes and assisting with construction assignments for our Self-Help Housing division.

Responsibilities
  • Perform weatherization services on eligible homes, ensuring energy efficiency and safety standards are met.
  • Assist with construction assignments for our Self-Help Housing division, including minor maintenance and repairs on agency vehicles.
  • Maintain hand and power tools, follow inventory procedures, and perform clerical duties as needed.
  • Professionally maintain contact with staff, participants, and partners, and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in home/commercial construction and repair.
  • Experience documenting construction project activities and results.
  • Knowledge of weatherization, including repair, alterations, and insulation to the specifications of WX Director and/or funding sources.
  • Knowledge of safety equipment and proper tool operation or willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Construction, plumbing, electrical, heating/cooling systems, and general repair skills.
  • Clerical skills (filing, recordkeeping, data entry, compliance, etc.).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Organized, attention to detail, and punctual.
  • Self-directed; Can work independently and in a team; Can establish working relationships with Agency employees, the public, and partners.

  • Able to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
