Bar Finish Operator 4

We are seeking a skilled Bar Finish Operator 4 to join our team at Carpenter Technology. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for inspecting finished material using immersion ultrasonic reflect scope equipment.

• Adjust electronic equipment for the right material and adjust roller RPMs on round bars.
• Place material in tank using pendent crane and special slings to protect surface.
• Begin inspection of the bars.
• Mark defective area of bar.
• Record required information on company forms and/or electronic input/output devices.
• Adjust water circulation if required.
• Drain and refill tank occasionally as required.
• Check identity, size, length, straightness, and surface condition on bars.
• Remove small surface defects and burrs using file and/or hand grinder.
• Notify supervision of any maintenance repairs required to maintain the upkeep and safety of the immersion tanks and small overhead cranes.
• Participate in Company Wide Continuous Improvements.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Observe safety rules and regulations.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by supervision.
