Job Summary

The Lake Erie College Of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Campus Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol campus facilities on foot or by vehicle to prevent and detect crime, and to provide a visible security presence.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as fires, medical emergencies, and security breaches.
  • Enforce college policies and procedures, including traffic and parking regulations.
  • Investigate incidents and prepare reports, as needed.
  • Provide assistance and information to students, faculty, and staff, as needed.
  • Collaborate with other security personnel and law enforcement agencies, as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License with appropriate level of insurance.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Former military police experience.
  • Prior experience in higher education or non-profit organizations.

The Campus Security Officer will work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to changing situations and priorities. The ability to remain calm and composed in emergency situations is essential.
