Job DescriptionTitle:

MRI Technologist

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Perform MRI examinations requiring a thorough understanding of anatomical positioning, MR protocols, and equipment to produce optimal results.
  2. Assume accountability for managing patient care and safety.
  3. Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results and minimize anxiety.
  4. Assess and screen patients for potential risk factors, documenting patient history and pertinent information.
  5. Follow departmental protocols for procedures, unless specified otherwise by the Radiologist.
  6. Ensure proper patient identification and communicate with attending Radiologists to verify provider orders.
  7. Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
  8. Maintain MRI room cleanliness and adhere to infection control standards.
  9. Prioritize and organize work assignments, adjusting priorities based on changing situations.
  10. Exercise proper precautions to ensure patient and staff safety.
  11. Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure equipment is in acceptable condition.
  12. Prepare and assist in the administration of contrast materials.
General Job Functions:
  1. Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
  2. Perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control.
  3. Experience with power injectors is preferred.
  4. Attend departmental meetings.
  5. Other job duties as required.
Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements:
  1. BLS certification is required.
  2. 1-3 years' experience is required.
  3. Graduation from an accredited MRI program with current MRI certification is required.
  4. ARRT or ARMRIT certification is required. IV certificate is preferred.
  5. The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  6. Advanced computer skills, including email, Microsoft applications, and the ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS, and PACS Systems.

Pay Range: $48/hr - $57/hr

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors, including but not limited to, years of experience and location of position.
