Job Description

Title: MRI Technologist

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform MRI examinations requiring a deep understanding of anatomical positioning, MR protocols, and equipment to produce optimal results.
  • Assume accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
  • Assess and screen patients for potential risk factors, documenting patient history and pertinent information.
  • Follow departmental protocols for procedures, unless specified otherwise by the Radiologist.
  • Ensure proper patient identification and communicate with attending Radiologists to verify provider orders.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation.
  • Maintain MRI room cleanliness and adhere to infection control standards.
  • Prioritize and organize work assignments, adjusting priorities based on changing situations.
  • Exercise proper precautions to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks to ensure equipment is in acceptable condition.
  • Prepare and assist in the administration of contrast materials.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate knowledge and compliance with safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control.
  • Experience with power injectors is preferred.
  • Attend departmental meetings.
  • Other job duties as required.
Education, Certification, and Training:
  • BLS certification is required.
  • 1-3 years' experience is required.
  • Graduation from an accredited MRI program with current MRI certification is required.
  • ARRT or ARMRIT certification is required; IV certificate is preferred.
  • The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is essential.
  • Advanced computer skills, including email, Microsoft applications, and the ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS, and PACS Systems, are required.
Compensation: $48/hr - $57/hr

The provided compensation range is based on industry standards and salary determinations will be made based on numerous factors, including years of experience and location of position.
