RN Weekend Supervisor

Healthcare Nursing Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced RN Weekend Supervisor to join our team.
Job Summary:The RN Weekend Supervisor will be responsible for supervising a team of dedicated RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, providing them with the support they need to deliver total nursing care to residents. This role will involve working with physicians, obtaining and implementing orders for medications, treatments, and special tests, while maintaining accurate records of treatments.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise nursing unit, including scheduling and directing nursing staff.
- Contact physicians as necessary and ensure timely and appropriate interventions.
- Review staffing patterns and census of nursing units, reassigning personnel as needed to ensure resident needs and budgetary controls are met.
- Investigate complaints and take necessary action to resolve problems.
- Assume responsibility for compliance with Federal, State, Local, and company regulations.
- Chart progress notes in an informative and factual manner, reflecting the care administered and the resident's response to care.
- Follow established procedures for charting and reporting all incidents/accidents for residents and employees.
- Utilize the nursing process to assess resident care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes related to nursing care.
- Conduct frequent rounds to evaluate the effectiveness of care delivery and maintain awareness of comfort and safety needs of residents.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during treatment and examination of residents.
- Observe residents, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or physicians of resident conditions and reactions to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Respond to emergency situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Assist in completing care plans (acute and long-term) and participate in care conferences as deemed necessary.
- Participate in investigations related to alleged abuse and ensure that progress notes reflect the care plan and that approaches on the care plan are being followed.
- Ensure that the team is aware of the resident care plan and refer to the care plan prior to administering care.
- Initiate and lead team conferences to develop individualized nursing care plans, assess and document resident conditions and nursing needs, and assign team members with the capabilities and qualifications to meet resident needs.
- Report and record observations and reactions regarding residents.
- Monitor documentation is completed daily.
- Provide nursing care on shift when needed.
- Assist in solving nursing service problems.
- Assist in implementing company forms/systems and policies and procedures.
- Assist in validating accuracy of Care Plans.
- Participate in facility quality improvement programs.
- Supervise and evaluate implementation of Residents' Rights.
- Assist with DON responsibilities as requested.
- Participate in periodic in-services and staff meetings.
Two years of previous nursing experience required, with experience working with a geriatric long-term care population. Current State Registered Nurse License in good standing in the state registry is required. Must be skilled in directing, motivating, and training staff and able to work as a member of a team, communicate effectively with residents, family members, and all levels of the organization, and maintain confidentiality.
