Join Tarleton State University as an Admissions Counselor II and contribute to the university's strategic enrollment goals for incoming student populations. As a key member of the admissions team, you will represent the university on and off campus, under general supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and recruit prospective undergraduate students across various populations, including high school students, community college students, working adults, and underrepresented populations.
  • Promote and recruit for academic programs located at each Tarleton location, including Stephenville, Fort Worth, Waco, Texas A&M-RELLIS, and Online.
  • Coordinate plans to attend recruitment events, such as college fairs, presentations, and visits to high schools and community colleges.
  • Provide admissions sessions and presentations for small and large groups.
  • Meet recruitment goals in assigned territory.
  • Represent the university at annual recruitment events hosted by professional organizations, such as TACRAO, TACAC, and NACAC.
  • Provide guidance to high school, transfer, and non-traditional students throughout the application and enrollment process.
  • Coordinate recruitment initiatives with high school counselors, transfer coordinators, college advisers, faculty, and staff throughout the application process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of experience in higher education, recruitment, sales, marketing, event management, territory management, or communications.
  • Ability to travel to various work locations, work a flexible schedule, and lift 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and professionally through written and verbal communications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience using Salesforce or CRM products.
  • Previous public speaking experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiar with Banner by Ellucian, Student Information System.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
