Position Summary

We are seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work weekends in our clinic.

This role involves conducting Compensation and Pension evaluations for veterans, ensuring timely appointments and adherence to VA regulations. It is essential to maintain compliance with all necessary documentation and training related to veterans' disability claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold HIPAA confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain a clean office environment, warmly greet veterans, and introduce yourself before examinations.
  • Ensure timely completion and submission of charts and orders within 1-2 business days.
  • Review medical histories in the provider portal prior to appointments and perform thorough history and physical examinations.
  • Order necessary ancillary tests, such as x-rays, labs, EKGs, and pulmonary function tests, as clinically indicated.
  • Complete all required training within specified deadlines.

Work Environment

This position operates within a healthcare setting, frequently interacting with patients who may present with contagious conditions.

Physical Requirements

The individual in this role must be able to navigate the office to access files and equipment as needed.

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree or Doctorate in Nursing or completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program is required.
  • Must possess a valid state license and current AANP/ANCC/NCCPA certification as applicable.
  • Current BLS certification is necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and basic computer proficiency are essential.
