Position Overview: The Barista at Simploy, Inc. is dedicated to crafting exceptional coffee experiences while delivering outstanding customer service. This role involves preparing and serving a diverse range of coffee beverages, maintaining a clean and inviting environment, and fostering positive interactions with patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including specialty coffee and tea options.
- Welcome customers, take orders, and process payments efficiently using the point-of-sale system.
- Ensure the café remains clean and organized, including all customer areas and restrooms.
- Monitor inventory levels of coffee and supplies to guarantee availability for service.
- Check the functionality of equipment such as freezers and coffee machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Acquire knowledge about different coffee beans and brewing techniques to provide informed recommendations to customers.
- Effectively communicate menu items and suggest products that align with customer preferences.
- Manage inventory by ordering and stocking supplies as needed.
- Process customer payments accurately and efficiently.
- Serve light food items, such as pastries and snacks.
- Restock service stations with necessary supplies.
- Label and prepare food items for sale.
- Demonstrate the operation of coffee-making equipment.
- Prepare additional menu items, including sandwiches and salads.
- Organize product displays to enhance customer experience.
- Prepare ingredients for food service, including slicing fruits and vegetables.
Customer Service Expertise: Understanding of customer service principles, including needs assessment and quality standards.
Qualifications:- Prior experience in a barista or customer service role is advantageous but not mandatory.
- A genuine enthusiasm for coffee and a desire to learn about various brewing methods.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Exposure to heat, steam, and occasional noise typical of a café environment.
