We are seeking a skilled Grounds Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Fayette County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and adjusting a variety of grounds maintenance equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain, repair, and adjust grounds maintenance equipment, including performing minor and major repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance and tune-ups on equipment, replacing parts as needed.
- Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical attachments to grounds equipment, troubleshooting and identifying electrical malfunctions.
- Requisition parts and supplies, maintaining inventory.
- Assist grounds maintenance personnel with various grounds maintenance duties.
- Operate a variety of grounds and grounds maintenance tools and equipment.
- Maintain routine records related to equipment maintenance and repair activities.
- High school diploma or certificate.
- Two years of experience in maintenance and repair of grounds equipment preferred.
- Valid Kentucky Commercial Driver's License.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, performing tasks that require standing, sitting, and walking. The position requires effective communication, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights.
