Peraton is seeking a Systems Evaluation Engineer to become part of our Cyber Mission division.
In this role, you will contribute to one of the most extensive enterprise-wide Engineering contracts within the Intelligence Community.
This is a full-time role requiring 1880 hours of annual support, with work conducted at the client site.
As a Systems Evaluation Engineer, your responsibilities will include assisting programs with test strategy formulation, execution of tests, and ensuring compliance with enterprise standards for the conduct and results of evaluation testing.
The team is dedicated to validating the outcomes of designated programs' development efforts by monitoring system performance, assessing metrics against required performance standards, and ensuring traceability of achieved system functions to Required Performance Measures (RPM) or Key Performance Parameters (KPP).
The team promotes the use of integrated testing methodologies to the fullest extent possible.Task Activities:
Identify gaps, risks, and issues related to testing requirements and criteria;
Utilize established Systems Engineering policies and processes to identify interoperability and testing challenges and risks;
Conduct Technical Reviews on enterprise Systems Engineering documents and provide feedback and recommendations to the Chief Systems Engineer;
Draft technical reports outlining the rationale for your recommendations;
Collaborate with Operational Test & Assessment team members; stay informed about the status and timelines of relevant programs;
Curate and disseminate best practices and heuristics for Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E);
Partner with client organizations to formulate testing policies and guidelines;
Advise programs and testing teams on current standards, practices, and procedures for system integration, testing, evaluation, and transition of capabilities;
Assess enterprise capabilities, architectures, system design concepts, requirements, risks, and opportunities, and their implications for integration, testing, evaluation, and transition;
Guide testing teams on the design and execution of evaluation strategies;
Review requirements for their testability;
Participate in reviews of systems and components under development to ensure requirements traceability;
Oversee program preparation and execution of comprehensive test and evaluation plans, procedures, and schedules;
Ensure that system integration, testing, evaluation, and transition activities are coordinated with other entities;
Monitor and advise program test teams on readiness for system integration, testing, evaluation, and transition activities; and
Recommend necessary adjustments in testing configurations, procedures, processes, or new testing requirements.
Qualifications:
Required Experience and Skills:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering.
Examples of Relevant Engineering Disciplines:
Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.
Examples of Related Fields:
Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics. A Master's degree or PhD may substitute for two years of experience. A high school diploma or GED combined with 14 years of systems engineering experience is also acceptable.
Experience in test planning and execution for complex software engineering projects is essential.
This position necessitates TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience in establishing and automating testing for software engineering projects.
Familiarity with automated testing tools, integrated testing, and continuous testing methodologies.
Able to collaborate with supported organizations and testing teams to enhance test planning and execution.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to engage with all levels of organizational management, adapt to a dynamic environment with minimal supervision, and demonstrate effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Selected applicants will undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
