Job Title: Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Psychiatrist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Psychiatrist to join our team at Elevance Health. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of medical services to children, youth, and families served by the child welfare system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement clinical practice standards, policies, and procedures to ensure high-quality care.
  • Provide clinical consultation and serve as a clinical/strategic advisor to enhance clinical operations.
  • Identify cost of care opportunities and develop programs to improve quality, cost, and outcomes.
  • Support clinicians to ensure timely and consistent responses to members and providers.
  • Conduct peer-to-peer clinical reviews with attending physicians or other providers to discuss review determinations and patients' office visits.
Requirements:
  • MD or DO degree and Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 2 years in managed care and 1 year working with children, youth, and families served by the child welfare system.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, problem-solving skills, facilitation skills, and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • At least 2+ years' experience in managed care.
  • At least 1+ year experience working with children, youth, and families served by the child welfare system and/or demonstrated familiarity with the State agencies that are involved with their care.
