Job Title: Staff Arborist/Forester/Scientist

Soundview Consultants LLC is a reputable environmental consulting firm with a strong presence in the Pacific Northwest. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Arborist/Forester/Scientist to join our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a professional with a strong background in arboriculture, environmental sciences, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2+ years of experience in arboriculture consulting and be proficient in tree identification, risk assessment, and canopy analysis. The successful candidate will provide dedicated support to our ISA certified arborist and perform fieldwork, including individual tree assessments and large-scale tree inventories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert-level support to our ISA certified arborist, including tree assessments and report preparation
  • Conduct fieldwork, including tree identification, risk assessment, and canopy analysis
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze field data and prepare reports
  • Research local regulatory codes and conduct background research to support project needs
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide report drafting and fieldwork support for wetland, habitat, and shoreline projects
Requirements
  • B.S. in Arboriculture, Environmental Sciences, Planning, or a related field
  • Preferred: ISA certified arborist or progress towards certification
  • Preferred: Tree Risk Assessment Qualified or progress toward certification
  • Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in arboriculture consulting
  • Pacific Northwest tree identification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Read, write, and speak English at an expert level
