Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Airport Firefighter to join our team at the Des Moines International Airport. As a member of our fire department, you will be responsible for providing emergency response services, including firefighting, rescue, and medical assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide firefighting and rescue services
  • Operate and maintain fire department equipment and apparatus
  • Participate in training and drills to ensure preparedness for emergency situations
  • Collaborate with other emergency responders and airport personnel to ensure a safe and efficient response
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of fire department equipment and facilities
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid state driver's license and ability to pass airfield/customer driving test
  • Must be certified as an NFPA 1001 Firefighter II and NFPA 472 Hazardous Materials-Operations
  • Must be certified as an Iowa State EMT or higher certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions in emergency situations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
