Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist-Microbiology/Processing Specialist to join our team at the Fredericksburg VA Health Care System. As a key member of our Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Service, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of duties, including laboratory testing, quality control, and training. Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory testing, including microbiology, chemistry, and hematology
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results
  • Develop and implement training programs for laboratory staff
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless laboratory operations
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or a related field
  • Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)
  • At least 1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
