Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Trainee Employee Assistance Program Specialist at Dynamic Educational Systems Inc. This role is responsible for developing, planning, and implementing a comprehensive Trainee Employee Assistance Program (TEAP) that meets the needs of our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct services to students with identified substance abuse patterns, including assessment, intervention, and referrals to appropriate treatment programs.
  • Implement a program to provide the center with identification, intervention, and alternatives to alcohol and other drugs of abuse, in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.
  • Assess staff needs and provide education and training regarding identification, referrals, and appropriate treatment for substance abuse patterns, working closely with career counseling staff, social development staff, and career development services staff.
  • Develop and implement a community network of resources and volunteers to supplement the TEAP Program, ensuring a comprehensive and supportive environment for our students and staff.
  • Develop and implement a Tobacco Use Prevention Program (TUPP) and lead the center in its efforts to become a non-smoking environment, promoting a healthy and safe work environment.
  • Document all student training sessions in the Student Health Record (SHR) system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Model, mentor, and monitor the positive normative culture of the center, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and support.
  • Act as a responsible custodian for assigned center property, ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment.
  • Report violations of ethical behavior, maintaining a high level of integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Suggest opportunities for continuous operational improvement and reduction of waste, contributing to the center's efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Identify and report environmental health and safety concerns, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology, or a closely related field, with a minimum of two years of related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to relate to the lifestyles of economically disadvantaged and culturally diverse youth, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing this population.
  • Must be certified or qualified for certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor in the center's state, with a strong commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of employment, with an acceptable driving record, and I-9 documentation to verify authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check, demonstrating a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
