Job Summary

The Registered Polysomnographic Technologist performs and processes sleep studies on adult and pediatric patients. This role requires collecting relevant clinical history, setting up and calibrating instrumentation, preparing patients, and performing sleep monitoring procedures. The technologist also collects and processes data, prepares it for physician interpretation, and performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Some college-level biological science coursework or degree preferred
  • American Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists Registry
  • Minimum of one year sleep lab experience, including completion of a minimum of one hundred sleep studies
  • BLS certification required upon hire
  • ACLS, NRP, PEARS, or PALS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, providing call coverage on a scheduled basis, and performing procedures on weekends and holidays. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Equipment Used

The Sleep Disorder's Center's lab instrumentation and system computers are used in this role.
