We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to join our team at the Center for Alternative. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the quality of patient care and the professional development of our psychiatric staff.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Supervise and manage a team of psychiatric providers, including psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners.
- Recruit and retain high-quality, mission-driven psychiatric providers.
- Patient Care and Services
- Develop and implement policies related to psychiatric services, including medication prescribing, monitoring for side effects, and integration with other medical services.
- Review and revise psychiatric documentation in our electronic medical record.
- Manage the implementation of buprenorphine/naloxone prescribing.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Collaborate with clinic leadership to implement and execute telepsychiatry services for select patient encounters.
- Participate in regular clinic meetings, including high-risk rounds, staff meetings, budget and operational meetings, and clinic leadership meetings.
- Training and Development
- Design, build, implement, and supervise psychiatric and psychiatric NP training programs in collaboration with the Chief Medical Officer.
- Incident Review and Quality Assurance
- Serve as the clinical lead for the Incident Review Committee.
- Administrative and Operational
- At least 70% of your time per week dedicated to direct patient care, unless otherwise directed by senior leadership.
- Board certified PMHNP (PNP), M.D., or D.O. degree with active New York State license in good standing.
- Graduate of ACGME-accredited psychiatry training program if applicable.
- ABPN Board-certified or equivalent certification of competence.
- At least two years of experience working with individuals with serious mental illness.
- Excellent diagnostic, clinical formulation, and treatment skills.
- Strong leadership abilities and flexibility to work successfully with a wide range of multi-disciplinary staff.
- MAT-waivered or ability to receive waiver within 3 months of hire.
- Experience working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system preferred.
