Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Producer to lead our transition to a multi-platform newsroom. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing winning strategies for our content, leveraging social media platforms, and producing high-quality reports for all platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead winning strategies for station content
  • Expertly utilize Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms to engage with viewers
  • Review and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and punctuation
  • Use social media and our website to build brand recognition and drive viewers to television
  • Determine story emphasis, length, and format, and organize material accordingly
  • Research and analyze background information for news stories
  • Gather information through research, interviews, and attendance at events
  • Pitch local and trending stories during morning meetings
  • Check reference materials for relevant facts
  • Shoot and edit content for on-air and digital platforms
  • Produce reports for all platforms
  • Ensure content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality
  • Build and calendar digital campaigns to promote local shows and specials
  • Write stories for the web and other digital platforms
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements and Skills
  • Degree in journalism; daily newspaper or news site experience required; live, working web samples and/or print pages preferred
  • Proficiency in Associated Press style, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and Basic HTML preferred
  • CSS, Flash, and other relevant technology skills a plus
  • Maintain a positive work environment through active team participation and cooperation with co-workers
  • Respond positively to feedback
