As a key member of our weather team, you will be responsible for reporting, shooting, writing, and editing weather and news reports across multiple platforms.\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cb\u003EKey Responsibilities\u003C\/b\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cul\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cb\u003EWeather Reporting\u003C\/b\u003E: Produce and present weather reports for all platforms, ensuring that all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cb\u003EStory Writing and Editing\u003C\/b\u003E: Write and deliver weather and news stories in a clear and concise manner, and assist in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating weather programming and other content.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cb\u003EBreaking News\u003C\/b\u003E: Respond to breaking and/or severe weather events and other urgent newsroom situations as required.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cb\u003ETeam Collaboration\u003C\/b\u003E: Work closely with the weather team to develop comprehensive weather coverage and participate in promotional activities, including public appearances.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cb\u003EWeb Content\u003C\/b\u003E: Write web stories detailing the local forecast on a daily basis and interact with viewers and users on social media sites.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cb\u003EMultimedia Skills\u003C\/b\u003E: Ability to shoot pictures and edit stories from beginning to end, and proficiency with Barron's Radar is helpful.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cb\u003ERequirements\u003C\/b\u003E: Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.\u003C\/li\u003E\u003Cli\u003E\u003Cb\u003EExperience\u003C\/b\u003E: Entry-level to 2 years' experience in weather presentation and reporting preferred.\u003C\/li\003E\u003C\/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cb\u003EWhat We Offer\u003C\/b\u003E\u003C\/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EAs a Weekend Meteorologist I at Nexstar Media Group, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals and contribute to the development of comprehensive weather coverage.
