Environmental Sustainability Specialist

Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Engineer - Air Quality Specialist to join our team at Naval Air Station Fallon, Nevada.
About the Role:This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and laws related to air quality, including the Clean Air Act and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental engineering, with experience in air quality management, pollution prevention, and environmental permitting.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and interpret new air emissions regulations, instructions, and regulations for the command.
- Provide technical expertise in air compliance issues, policies, and regulations to promote compliance with air pollution laws and regulations.
- Apply the latest developments in environmental engineering to resolve problems for which accepted methods are not directly applicable.
- Recommend environmental-related improvements for engineering or design of projects to modify existing facilities or construct new facilities.
- Facilitate the resolution of unique or complex project issues through planning, design, and construction.
- Coordinate compliance efforts with regard to environmental laws and work with environmental regulatory agencies.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related scientific field.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Must hold U.S. Citizenship.
- Aged 18 or older at time of hire.
- Males born after must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
