Job Overview

Interstate Advanced Materials is seeking a skilled CNC Programmer/Operator to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating computer numerically controlled (CNC) machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming and Operation: Program and operate CNC machines to perform tasks such as routing, grinding, milling, and more.
  • Blueprint Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret prints, 3D models, and general work instructions to understand the specifications of the task at hand.
  • Machine Setup and Testing: Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines, perform test runs, and inspect and measure finished products to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Process Optimization: Program machines to complete full cycles to fabricate a large number of parts, supervise the machines while they execute tasks, and make necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and measure finished products, compare them with requirements, and ensure that the process has been appropriately completed.
  • Maintenance and Documentation: Check and maintain machinery daily, maintain quality control documents, and update setup information.
  • Team Collaboration: Work as a team with other employees to help the branch reach its goals.
Requirements
  • CNC Experience: Must have CNC fabrication experience and experience with precision measurement tools.
  • Programming Skills: Must be computer savvy and have programming experience with Mastercam.
  • Communication and Mathematical Skills: Ability to read and interpret prints/drawings & 3D models, communicate positively and effectively with coworkers, and perform mathematical calculations.
  • Self-Motivation and Attention to Detail: Self-motivated, able to work with minimal direct supervision, and have attention to detail and results-driven.
