Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Staff Pharmacist to join our team at St. Luke's Hospital. As a key member of our pharmacy department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Management: Interpret physician orders, monitor medication interactions and/or allergies, and prepare medications and parenteral solutions for dispensing.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform routine medication area inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and hospital policies.
  • Communication: Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to promote smooth workflow performance and provide guidance on medication therapy.
  • Leadership: Supervise pharmacy technicians and interns to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and competency in medication preparation and dispensing.
  • Education and Training: Provide in-service programs and serve as a resource for drug information to promote excellence in patient care.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S. Pharmacy) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Ph.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure: Registered pharmacist license in Pennsylvania or completion of boards with pending licensure.
  • Experience: Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred, with skills ranging from new graduates to experienced professionals.
Physical and Sensory Requirements

This role requires sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, with frequent handling, grasping, and reaching. Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing of up to 200 pounds may be required.
