The Security Risk Assessment Specialist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive risk evaluations and establishing security requirements for various IT systems. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing effective solutions to meet IT security standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct risk analyses and assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in information systems.
- Gather and organize technical data regarding existing security solutions and established vulnerability management policies.
- Support the Security Controls Auditor in verifying security measures and inputs related to the Risk Management Framework for all managed systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies while conducting thorough evaluations of security protocols.
- Identify security breaches, analyze their causes, and implement preventive measures to avert future incidents.
- Develop essential job skills by addressing standard challenges and managing multiple project tasks effectively.
- Draft various documentation including reports, plans, and communications to enhance operational efficiency.
- Identify and create strategies to optimize procedures and systems for improved performance and cost-effectiveness.
Must be eligible for a secret clearance.
This position requires IAT-I or IAT-II certification. CompTIA SEC+ or an equivalent certification is mandatory.
- A Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Cyber Security, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or a High School Diploma with IT certification and three years of relevant experience.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with security control frameworks such as NIST and CMMC.
- Experience in conducting compliance and risk assessments in accordance with NIST SP.
- Strong customer service and organizational skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
