Medical Scribe Specialist

The Medical Scribe Specialist plays a vital role in the healthcare team by accurately documenting physician-patient encounters in real-time. This position requires strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail to ensure that medical information is properly recorded and communicated.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians in navigating electronic health records (EHRs) and documenting medical information
- Formulate physician notes and import diagnostic results as instructed
- Ensure documentation aligns with health system compliance guidelines
Requirements:
- Successful completion of the VCUHS Medical Scribe Training program within six months of hire
- Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting
- Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail
Working Conditions:
- Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- No evenings or weekends
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting 20-50 lbs
- Prolonged standing, sitting, and walking
- Strong recall, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
