Medical Scribe Specialist

The Medical Scribe Specialist plays a vital role in the healthcare team by accurately documenting physician-patient encounters in real-time. This position requires strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail to ensure that medical information is properly recorded and communicated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist physicians in navigating electronic health records (EHRs) and documenting medical information
  • Formulate physician notes and import diagnostic results as instructed
  • Ensure documentation aligns with health system compliance guidelines

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of the VCUHS Medical Scribe Training program within six months of hire
  • Previous experience as a Medical Scribe or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail

Working Conditions:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • No evenings or weekends

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting 20-50 lbs
  • Prolonged standing, sitting, and walking
  • Strong recall, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
