Job Summary

Pavilion of Ottawa is seeking a skilled Environmental Services Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the daily upkeep and repair of the facility's inside and outside spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with the Administrator to ensure the facility's physical plant equipment is functioning properly.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure efficient work completion.
  • Perform snow and ice removal as directed, as well as minor tile, wallpaper, painting, and drywall repairs.
  • Conduct gardening and lawn care duties, and repair and replace door and window hardware.
  • Maintain and repair pumps, perform preventative maintenance, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair all kitchen equipment.
Requirements
  • Ability to make basic carpentry repairs.
  • Knowledge of basic electricity and plumbing, with the ability to make safe repairs.
  • Knowledge of basic HVAC equipment, or ability to learn.
  • Ability to budget department needs.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, reach, bend, grasp, and push/pull with or without mechanical devices.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet.
  • Ability to walk, use a ladder, and work on the facility roof.
