Position: Senior Vertical Mill Machinist
Status: Full Time
Working Hours: Monday - Friday 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate various metal cutting machines, including both manual and CNC mills and lathes.
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to select appropriate materials, tools, and processes.
  • Familiarity with G-code programming and CAD/CAM software.
  • Mentor junior machinists and optimize departmental workflow for efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • 5 - 7+ years of experience with CNC mills and/or lathes.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic trigonometry.
  • General mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
  • Advanced blueprint reading skills, including knowledge of GD&T tolerances.
  • Proficient in G-code programming.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Determine the sequence of operations and setup requirements for production.
  • Knowledge of machining processes and parameters for various materials.
  • Experience with ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as plastics.
  • Generate and edit CNC programs using standard G-code formats.

Quality Control:
  • Conduct first article inspections and set up inspection tools for production runs.
  • Create and maintain statistical reports.
  • Utilize CMM for part qualification.
