Job Overview

Summary:

This position involves executing inspections on incoming materials, monitoring assembly processes, and conducting wiring tests on train components. The Assistant Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with various departments, including Production, Commissioning and Functional Testing, Logistics, and Process Engineering, as quality impacts all facets of the organization.

  • General Duties:
    • Document inspection and testing outcomes, non-conformities, and any quality issues identified during the inspection or testing process.
    • Work alongside senior quality engineers to analyze inspection data and identify trends or areas for improvement in manufacturing or assembly processes.
    • Participate in the investigation and resolution of quality issues through root cause analysis, corrective action identification, and preventive measure implementation.
    • Contribute feedback and suggestions to support continuous improvement initiatives, including quality control procedures and inspection methods.
    • Engage with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns and ensure alignment with quality standards.
    • Conduct regular audits of quality control procedures and inspection tools to ensure accuracy.
    • Adhere to company and industry safety protocols.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
  • AQE-Electrical:
    • Execute incoming inspections on train components to confirm their quality and compliance with established standards.
    • Conduct electrical inspections during assembly, including cable routing, crimping, connections, and terminations.
    • Utilize CRRC's customized quality management system to create quality documents and manage inspection statuses.
    • Archive completed quality inspection documents and upload inspection data to the quality management system.
    • Assist in compiling necessary information for car history books.
  • AQE-Mechanical:
    • Perform incoming inspections on train components to verify quality and compliance.
    • Conduct onsite inspections during assembly to ensure proper installation and alignment of components.
    • Use CRRC's quality management system for documentation and inspection status management.
    • Archive completed inspection documents and upload data to the quality management system.
    • Assist in the creation of car history books.
  • AQE-Testing:
    • Conduct wiring tests, including continuity, megger, and hi-pot tests, following established procedures.
    • Assist in electrical inspections during assembly.
    • Interpret electrical schematics for troubleshooting during testing.
Travel Requirements:

Travel is primarily local during business hours, with occasional out-of-area and overnight travel required.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • Proficient in using measuring instruments such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings, understanding product specifications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
  • Experience in quality inspection/testing within rolling stock, aerospace, heavy-duty equipment, or automotive industries.
  • Knowledge of quality management in engineering.
  • Ability to read and speak Mandarin Chinese.
