About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in echocardiography and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist in the diagnosis of cardiovascular disease
  • Document patient's clinical history and technologist impressions of the images obtained on exam request forms
  • Assist the cardiologist with obtaining images and equipment operation during transesophageal echocardiography
  • Assist in the instruction of cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows during their practice performance at Christiana Care
  • Rotate on on-call schedule covering off hours and weekend rotation
  • Perform pediatric echocardiography, if experienced
Requirements
  • Associate degree from an accredited school of cardiovascular technology
  • Registry-eligible and must sit for registry and become RDCS/RCS within the first year of employment
  • Pass the registry exam from either the ARDMS or RDCS
  • CPR certification
  • IV experience with saline contrast and Definity contrast
  • Experience in Transesophageal echo, stress echo, dobutamine stress echo and adult echo
