Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead our team of technicians and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our service department, including managing staff, coordinating activities, and resolving customer issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Manage and develop the HVAC service staff, including hiring, terminating, and disciplining employees, scheduling employees, evaluating performance, and directing work assignments to ensure effective production.
  • Operational Efficiency: Coordinate activities of the maintenance, service, and indoor air quality departments to effect operational efficiency; use system-generated and locally produced reports to monitor field performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Resolve customer issues and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the general manager on creating and managing budget.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Generate reports and measures of departmental operations as well as records on all inventory, tools, and vehicles.
  • Training and Development: Instruct crews on proper use of materials and quality workmanship.
  • Payroll and Inventory Management: Review payroll records to ensure that technicians are paid properly and ensure that company vehicles are properly stocked.
  • Dispatch and Communication: Communicate with dispatchers to ensure appropriate technicians for types of service.
  • Staff Development: Evaluate staff to determine training requirements.
Requirements
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and maneuver equipment up to 75 lbs.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to crawl, climb, kneel, squat, bend, and reach overhead.
  • Tools and Equipment: Must be able to use hand and power tools.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED are required.
  • Experience: 3+ years management experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: A working knowledge of HVAC is required, as well as strong supervisory experience, communication, and computer skills.
  • Availability: Ability to work after regular business hours as needed.
