Job Title: Registration Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registration Specialist to join our team at Singing River Health System.

Job Summary:

The Registration Specialist is responsible for ensuring a pleasant experience for patients and visitors by obtaining complete and accurate demographic, financial, and insurance information required for billing and collecting patient accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interview patients and/or their representatives to obtain accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Conduct screening for all insurance pre-certification requirements
  • Minimize medical risk to patients and minimize Health System liability by correctly identifying patients and resolving duplicate medical record numbers
  • Provide patients with a copy of their rights and responsibilities and Health System privacy practices
  • Contribute to the success of the Revenue Cycle by meeting standards for accuracy and attention to detail in registrations and assigned tasks
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) preferred
  • Experience in hospital or physician office setting performing registration and scheduling, insurance verification, and/or customer service preferred
Working Conditions:

The Registration Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent requirements to move about the office and travel to other facilities within the SRHS service area.
