Job Summary:

The Admissions Specialist is a vital member of the Intake Team at Gulfport Behavioral Health System, a 90-bed psychiatric hospital offering comprehensive behavioral health programs and treatment services. This role is responsible for coordinating the admissions process, ensuring efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls, processing referrals, and communicating with referral sources and customers. Additional responsibilities include insurance verification, patient registration, and other non-clinical duties as assigned by the admissions leadership team.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate admissions process, including inquiry calls and referrals
  • Communicate with referral sources and customers
  • Verify insurance and process patient registration
  • Perform other non-clinical duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, mental health, or related field
  • Minimum one year of experience in human service, social service, psychiatric, or mental health setting
  • Certification in CPR and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
