As an integral part of our team, Associates play a key role in assembling the foundational elements for every investigation. This position involves conducting thorough research and analysis on individuals and organizations, while addressing specific client inquiries and challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive investigative research on individuals, corporate entities, and relevant issues utilizing a variety of open-source materials, including media articles, legal proceedings, regulatory filings, and property records.
  • Leverage online and subscription databases to gather pertinent public records, such as property documents, SEC filings, and legal pleadings.
  • Identify and assess specialized industry, regulatory, and governmental information resources.
  • Conduct research to locate potential human sources, witnesses, and experts, and carry out interviews with guidance from senior team members.
  • Oversee and coordinate consultants conducting on-site research at public record repositories in various locations.
  • Independently produce high-quality, detailed reports, while maintaining accurate and organized records of all work conducted.
  • Deliver verbal briefings to project managers and/or clients.
  • Manage multiple projects of diverse nature simultaneously.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.
  • Preferred degrees include international affairs, political science, business, finance, or accounting, though candidates from other fields will also be considered.
  • At least two years of professional experience in consulting, intelligence, investigations, investigative journalism, audit, law practice, or related areas is preferred, demonstrating proficiency in conducting complex qualitative and analytical research with minimal oversight.
  • Experience interacting with corporate, legal, and/or government clients is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • Familiarity with public record, investigative, and financial research resources is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong skills in advanced Internet-based research, including social media, domain registration records, and deep web searches, are preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Attention to detail, thoroughness, objectivity, and precision in research and reporting are critical.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Interest in current events related to finance and business, along with a basic understanding of capital markets.
  • Ability to draft concise summaries of financial transactions and legal proceedings from original documents.
  • Capability to contextualize and analyze complex topics.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel for specific client engagements, if necessary.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedules to meet deadlines and respond to urgent requests.
