Key Responsibilities- Enforce the Santa Fe County Sustainable Land Development Code and other County ordinances through site inspections, data collection, and report preparation.
- Represent the County in court hearings and present cases to Magistrate/District courts.
- Interact with the public to provide information on code and zoning regulations, conduct site inspections, and assist with special projects.
- Review permit applications for compliance with the Sustainable Land Development Code and conduct site investigations for zoning compliance.
- Inspect new development sites for code compliance, collect evidence for case files, and verify third-party complaints.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years of experience in code interpretation and compliance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
This position requires occasional work in an office environment and frequent outdoor work in varied weather conditions. The employee must be able to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and talk or hear. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. is required. Clarity of vision at long distance and short distance is necessary. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
