- Accurately measures and records patient vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Alerts the Registered Nurse and healthcare team of any notable changes in patient status.
- Responds promptly to patient requests and call lights.
- Ensures a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families, adhering to established standards.
- Participates as a team member during emergency situations under the guidance of supervisory staff.
- Assists with the care of restrained patients in accordance with established protocols.
- Provides basic wound care and assists with activities of daily living as appropriate.
- Utilizes proper body mechanics and equipment when assisting patients with mobility.
- Performs delegated patient care tasks as directed.
- Collects and labels specimens, and conducts specific diagnostic tests as instructed.
- Conducts phlebotomy procedures as required.
- Performs telemetry and electrocardiogram tasks as directed.
- Applies clinical knowledge in managing patient care based on their diagnoses.
- Undertakes related duties as necessary, with all responsibilities considered essential functions of the role.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience is required.
