Position: Piping Planner

Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled Piping Planner to join our team. This role is critical in preparing essential design and coordination drawings that align with project specifications and requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The Piping Planner will be responsible for:

  • Creating detailed design and coordination drawings, including:
    • Shop and detail drawings.
    • Sleeve penetration layouts.
    • Coordination schematics.
    • Prefabrication designs.
    • As-built documentation.
  • Interpreting and analyzing contract drawings, schedules, and specifications.
  • Utilizing AutoCAD MEP 2022, Revit 2022, and Navisworks 2022 for design and drafting tasks.
  • Collaborating closely with Project Managers and relevant personnel regarding contract modifications, equipment procurement, RFIs, and change orders.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engaging with Job Supervisors, Foremen, and Project Managers to provide insights and assist in resolving design-related challenges.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of the construction process.
  • Working alongside the Prefabrication Department to facilitate the fabrication of components for field deployment.
  • Participating in coordination meetings with various trades as a company representative.
  • Navigating folder structures to locate and retrieve necessary information from project files.
  • Understanding file naming conventions to ensure accurate file management.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the plumbing and/or HVAC piping sector.
  • At least 3 years of experience in drafting design and coordination drawings within the plumbing and/or HVAC industry using AutoCAD MEP, Revit, and Navisworks.
