The Safety Manager is a critical role within LSG Sky Chefs, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive safety program to protect employees, contractors, and visitors within our facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with all applicable safety regulations and reducing workplace accidents and injuries.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address safety issues and facilitate successful resolutions.
- Audit facilities to ensure compliance with safety standards, training, and documentation.
- Conduct mock OSHA and Ramp Safety Audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Coach and support facilities to ensure customer satisfaction in airline audits and compliance with airline requirements.
- Analyze trends in employee injuries, aircraft, auto, and property damages to implement action plans for reduction.
- Provide accident/injury investigation and root cause analysis training for facilities.
- Participate in safety meetings with business partners and oversee the collection and trending analysis of safety data.
- Administer regulatory compliance with ramp issues dealing with OSHA, FAA, EPA, DOT, and airline customer requirements.
- Develop strong relationships with airline security personnel, airport authorities, and law enforcement agencies.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to prepare cases and gather evidence for presenting.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with managers to influence safety decisions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety or Aviation Ground Safety preferred.
- Five to seven years of operations and safety experience required.
- Strong understanding and applicability of Employee Safety, Ramp Safety, and Ground Handling Safety Area (OSHA, FAA, DOT).
- Excellent language and writing abilities.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
- Ability to work with legal counsel and gather evidence for presenting.
