We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Observation Unit team at Mercy. As a RN Surgical Observation Unit Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care to short-stay patients in the observation, extended recovery, and discharge-decision process immediately after surgery.
- Manage the pre- and post-op care of complex disease processes, including patients with medical diagnoses such as UTI, diabetes, ileus, small bowel obstruction, or infectious processes.
- Collaborate with Oklahoma's top surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Monitor and report patient progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest medical procedures and technologies.
- Current Oklahoma License
- BLS, ACLS/PALS certification required and can be obtained/recertified during orientation
- Minimum 1 year Med Surg experience preferred
- BSN degree preferred
