We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist to join our team at HCA Florida Lake City Hospital. As a vital part of our patient care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department.
Key Responsibilities- Perform and document patient assessment, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with placement of artificial airways.
- Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patient for therapeutic response and notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response.
- Assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.
- State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
HCA Florida Lake City Hospital is a 103-bed acute care hospital that has served Columbia, Hamilton, and Suwannee counties and surrounding communities for over 60 years. We offer medical and surgical programs, including 24-hour emergency care, heart care, interventional cardiology, orthopedics, cancer care, and imaging and rehabilitation services. We are an Accredited Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and an Accredited Chest Pain Center by the American College of Cardiology. We have achieved Disease Specific Certification in the treatment of Sepsis by the Joint Commission.
