The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health Postgraduate Fellowship Programs offer Advanced Practice Providers a comprehensive 12-month training experience. Our program is designed to provide a solid foundation in the diagnosis and management of patients, with a focus on Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
CurriculumOur curriculum is comprised of didactic and clinical components, which will occur concurrently. Fellows will participate in interactive faculty-led sessions, where they will learn symptom management, communication frameworks, and associated skills. They will also receive bedside coaching from our faculty and be mentored to teach these skills to medical school and GME learners.
Learning Objectives- Gain foundational knowledge in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
- Build confidence in managing complex symptoms in seriously ill patients
- Develop confidence in having serious illness conversations with patients and families
- Ability to lead an interdisciplinary team
To be considered for admission to the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Advanced Practice Provider Postgraduate Fellowship Program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Be a graduate of an accredited Adult Geriatric Acute Care, Adult Acute Care, or Family Nurse Practitioner program or an accredited master's degree APRN program or Physician Assistant program
- Be eligible for RN or PA licensure in the state of New Hampshire before the start of the program
- Participate in a personal interview

- A brief personal statement describing your interest in pursuing a career in Hospice & Palliative Medicine (500-1,000 words)
