Position Overview:

The Project Engineer (PE) plays a crucial role in overseeing on-site project administration and managing office engineers and jobsite administrators. The PE is accountable for project financials, planning, scheduling, and supervising personnel to ensure project objectives are met.

This role demands exceptional attention to detail and proficiency in project management tools and software. The Project Engineer collaborates with stakeholders at all levels and is tasked with negotiating with owners, suppliers, and trade partners to resolve disputes and manage changes effectively.


Qualifications:

Required:
- A four-year degree in civil or structural engineering, architecture, or construction management.
- 2-4 years of experience in large commercial construction projects.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Prolog, Primavera, and AutoDesk Suite.

Preferred:
- Previous internships in the construction sector.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the project manager and superintendents by gathering necessary data and preparing monthly owner pay applications.
  • Identify and resolve interface conflicts between the company and trade partners.
  • Support field supervisors with the interpretation of drawings, specifications, and RFIs.
  • Develop and manage cost control and labor recap in collaboration with the project manager and superintendent.
  • Process and estimate potential change orders and requests for information.
  • Contribute to the development and management of the project schedule.
  • Assist with engineering details and special design considerations.
  • Monitor and report on project progress.
  • Facilitate the timely acquisition of materials and equipment.
  • Conduct weekly owner/architect/contractor meetings and maintain minutes.
  • Participate in jobsite safety meetings and audits.
  • Support the quality control plan and participate in inspections.
  • Manage, train, and mentor office engineers and jobsite administrators.
