Job Summary

As a PV Electrical Engineer with OneEnergy Renewables, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of utility-scale solar projects.

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, coordination, and construction of commercial and utility scale solar projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, experience with AutoCAD drafting, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead electrical engineering portions of commercial and utility scale solar projects.
  • Coordinate internal resources to generate construction sets for multiple projects.
  • Verify incorporation to design with Senior PV Electrical Engineers and coordinate change orders.
  • Evaluate interconnection study reviews and utility feedback for later stage designs.
  • Review electrical calculations, including short circuit, arc flash, ampacity, and other required studies.
  • Establish consistency in short-circuit studies through outside consultants.
  • Manage internal engineering resources to meet design deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to align priorities.
  • Work with the Engineer of Record to review and approve projected deliverables specified in scope of work.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • At least 3 years of experience in professional engineering, construction, or land development.
  • Detailed knowledge of 480V, 600V, and 800V PV designs.
  • Familiarity with current NEC, NESC, and IEEE requirements.
  • Experience managing internal engineering resources.
  • Strong communication skills to lead technical conversations with contractors and internal customers.
  • Proficiency establishing equipment specifications to generate final submittals.
  • Familiarity with SCADA design standards for Performance Test and O&M PV Sites.
  • Ability to read geotechnical reports and testing performed for electrical studies.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of integrity and proven organizational capacity to manage multiple projects.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD drafting with experience using layers, blocks, coordinate systems, dimensioning, and industry standards.
  • Able to provide efficient, timely, and reliable service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be willing to travel frequently, up to 1-2 weeks per month.
