At Abel Brown, we're seeking a Southern Hospitality Specialist to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences for our guests.

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Summary

The Southern Hospitality Specialist will be responsible for greeting all guests with enthusiasm and friendliness, engaging them to create positive dining experiences, and suggestingively selling to build the per person check average. They will also deliver food and beverages to guests at their table or bar, execute pre- and post-shift side work, open and close the dining room and beverage station as needed, and be knowledgeable of all menu items, preparation, and ingredients.

Essential Duties:

  • Greet all guests with a warm smile and welcoming demeanor
  • Engage guests to create positive dining experiences by offering personalized recommendations and attentive service
  • Suggestively sell wine, cocktails, and other beverages to enhance the guest's experience
  • Deliver food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Execute pre- and post-shift side work to maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Open and close the dining room and beverage station as needed to ensure seamless service
  • Maintain knowledge of all menu items, preparation, and ingredients to provide accurate information to guests

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in fine dining environment preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of and interest in farm-to-table cuisine and wines
  • Ability to operate Focus, the point-of-sale (POS) computer system accurately
  • Able to take direction and complete tasks efficiently
  • Organizational skills and ability to multitask
  • Pleasant demeanor and excellent communication skills
  • Desire to be part of a small, fun group of professionals
  • Positive and clear written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to engage guests successfully and build relationships
