Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and attentive Host/Hostess to join our team at The Candler Hotel, Atlanta. As a Host/Hostess, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for our guests. This includes greeting and seating guests, assisting servers, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Responsibilities
  • Guest Recognition and Seating: Greet and seat guests in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
  • Service Assistance: Assist servers in providing attentive and efficient service to guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Cash Handling: Assist the cashier in collecting payment from guests and servers, and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  • Menu Knowledge: Maintain a thorough knowledge of menus and current specials, and be able to answer guest questions and make recommendations.
  • Quality Control: Ensure the cleanliness and appearance of menus, and maintain a high standard of quality in all aspects of the dining experience.
  • Opening and Closing Duties: Perform opening and closing duties according to established procedures, including setting up and cleaning the dining area.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant environment preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong attention to detail.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and move quickly and efficiently in a busy environment.
