Patient Care Technician

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at MUSC Health & Medical University of SC. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Job Summary:The Patient Care Technician reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes.
Responsibilities:- Provide patient care and support to patients and their families
- Assist with vital signs, medication administration, and other clinical tasks
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to achieve patient-centered care
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information
- A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- One year of patient care work experience in a healthcare facility, Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 2 weeks of hire
The Patient Care Technician will work in a fast-paced healthcare environment, providing care to patients in various settings. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate effectively with patients and families, and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity.
