Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Flight Nurse to join our team at UCHealth. As a Flight Nurse, you will provide direct patient care during air and ground critical care transport, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of care for our patients.
Responsibilities
* Provide patient care during all phases of transport, from initial contact to care relinquishment at the accepting medical facility
* Document patient assessment, evaluation, interventions, patient response to therapy, changes in condition, and procedures within established timeframes
* Participate in pre- and post-transport briefings, ensuring seamless communication and handoffs
* Collaborate with referring facilities and EMS agencies to provide safety and clinical education as needed
* Ensure equipment is in working order, noting any discrepancies and taking steps towards resolution
* Complete all required vehicle and equipment checklists
Requirements
* Minimum Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
* Required Licensure: Colorado or Multi-state compact RN License at hire, Multi-state compact Nursing License within six months of hire
* Flight Nurse Certification (CFRN)
* Valid driver's license
* Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP), and one of the following: Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC), or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)
* Minimum Experience: 5 years ICU, Emergency department, or combination of both experience
* Preferred: Previous Flight, CCT, or EMS experience, Instructor certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TPATC, or TNCC or ATCN)
