Position Overview

As a Lithium-Ion Battery Testing Specialist at Star Group, LP, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our battery systems. Your expertise will be essential in executing a variety of tests and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test Execution: Conduct comprehensive evaluations (electrical, mechanical, environmental, and abuse) on lithium-ion battery systems and their components within our internal testing laboratory.
  • Test Setup Planning: Strategically plan and prepare test configurations, including the selection of sensors and testing apparatus, as well as the conceptual design of necessary fixtures and adapters.
  • External Coordination: Oversee and manage testing activities at external facilities, which may involve travel for on-site support.
  • Test Case Development: Formulate test scenarios based on both customer specifications and internal standards.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret test results, ensuring thorough documentation of findings.
  • Physical Analysis Support: Participate in the physical examination of batteries, documenting any issues or anomalies observed.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Development teams to address and resolve identified issues.
Qualifications
  • A completed university degree in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automation engineering, or a related technical field, accompanied by a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A strong interdisciplinary understanding encompassing high voltage systems, electrics/electronics, mechanics, and software.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
  • A self-directed, systematic, and process-oriented mindset, coupled with a high level of commitment and responsibility.
  • Preferred experience in battery systems, automotive testing, and vehicle technology.
  • Proficient English language skills; knowledge of German is an advantage.
