Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Sports Physical Therapist to join our team at Scottish Rite for Children. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to children with a variety of physical and developmental needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis, intervention, and outcome in accordance with standards set by the profession's national association, scope of practice, and hospital policies and guidelines.
  • Work with leaders to identify opportunities to improve performance in these areas across the department.
  • Provide age-appropriate and family-centered care in accordance with current evidence and practice standards, provider's prescription, and protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Complete documentation per departmental and hospital policy and demonstrate an understanding of revenue cycle implications of effective documentation.
  • Utilize effective verbal and written communication with providers, patients of all ages, and their families, hospital staff members, and other professionals.
  • Identify ways to improve communication with these groups.
  • Supervise therapy aides, students, and volunteers in order to maintain patient safety and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in formal and informal education of new employees, students, volunteers, and members of the same and other disciplines.
  • Identify opportunities to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance outcomes for patient care through individual patient care coordination as well as education and research activities.
  • Participate in research projects, performance improvement processes, quality initiatives, and/or outcome studies.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure to practice in the State of Texas in the applicable profession.
  • Successful completion of training in an accredited program in the applicable profession.
  • Certification in BLS.
  • 1 or more years of experience.

Working Conditions:

This position requires working in an inside and outside environment, with the ability to lift or carry weight in the range of 75-100lbs. The individual in this position will be exposed to inside/outside environment, bloodborne pathogens, loud noise, chemical hazards, and respiratory hazards.
