Position Title: Personal Insurance Account Specialist

Role Summary:

The Personal Insurance Account Specialist is responsible for overseeing all facets of personal insurance accounts, which includes servicing, advising, retaining, and cross-selling personal insurance products in alignment with agency protocols and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with current clients through inbound and outbound communications to assist those considering policy cancellations or seeking re-evaluations of their insurance coverage, providing guidance on existing and potential coverage options.
  • Handle calls promptly and courteously, delivering effective customer service while advising clients on their current coverage and additional options available.
  • Proactively work to retain accounts by following up on cancellations and Broker of Record letters, adhering to agency guidelines.
  • Identify new sales opportunities through networking, referrals, and inquiries for additional lines of coverage.
  • Document all client interactions in the agency management system, attaching relevant emails and documents as per agency procedures.
  • Input data into the system for account management, document preparation, and policy adjustments according to agency standards.
  • Communicate with clients and insurance companies to gather information or update them on account statuses or changes.
  • Verify application information to ensure coverage accuracy, correcting any discrepancies as needed.
  • Advise clients on coverage and policy modifications, provide insurance quotes, and accurately complete applications. Requote and remarket as necessary.
  • Prioritize placing business with core insurance carriers.
  • Collect necessary information for quotes, input data into quoting software, and counsel clients on the most suitable products for their needs.
  • Process account transactions, including quotations, applications, and binders for new and rewritten business.
  • Update and manage existing policies and claims in the agency management system to reflect any changes in coverage.
  • Assist clients with billing inquiries and payment processing as required.
  • Complete assigned daily and monthly reports accurately.
  • Represent the agency professionally and ethically, maintaining a positive image.
  • Foster effective relationships with clients, colleagues, insurance carriers, and business partners, upholding the agency's ethical standards.
  • Ensure confidentiality of company and client information.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in personal lines account management or customer service.
  • Pennsylvania Property and Casualty License required; Life and Health Insurance License preferred.
  • Familiarity with insurance coverage forms, carrier products, and basic underwriting guidelines.
  • Ability to utilize company software and programs for account servicing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with agency management systems, preferably Applied Epic.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and sales techniques.
  • Exhibit a positive demeanor in all interactions with clients and team members.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective listening and speaking abilities.
  • Capable of managing time efficiently.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to take direction and work independently or collaboratively.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, standard business hours.
